Wipro-GE Healthcare launches B2B eCommerce Platform

Bangaluru based Wipro GE Healthcare, a subsidiary of GE dealing in healthcare equipment have launched its B2B eCommerce Platform, the GE Shop, in India to enable the purchase of medical equipment online, an official release by the company said.

“This initiative is aligned to GE’s vision of democratising access and unlocking better value in healthcare systems across all of India along with a commitment to supporting ease of business for hospitals. The platform, which was first launched by GE Healthcare in the US, is designed to offer the depth of reach and a superlative customer experience,” the statement added.

Through the GE Shop, Wipro GE Healthcare aims to address the currently underserved tier II & III markets in India.

“India is a country within many countries, and to serve the market well it is important to rethink and reinvent, Dr Shravan Subramanyam, Managing Director of Wipro GE Healthcare said.

“Our philosophy with the GE Shop is rooted in creating a value proposition that goes beyond just access to medical devices; through this portal, we aim to come closer to the health care professionals across all of India and open access to a richer knowledge pool,” he added.

The platform currently offers popular pre-configured products, making it easier for the customers to choose the variant, the statement further added.

The platform has been a remarkable success internationally with markets like US & Europe with considerable interest in e-commerce as an alternate channel for buying MedTech products; with this platform in India, GE Healthcare aims to come closer to customers and truly improve lives in moments that matter, it noted.
