Dr Sudarshan Ballal elected NATHEALTH's new president

Healthcare Federation of India, NATHEALTH, has stated that the Chairman of Manipal Health Enterprises, Dr. H. Sudarshan Ballal, has been elected as its president for the year 2019-20, in the 6th annual general meeting held in New Delhi on March 22, 2019.

Dr. Ballal succeeds Fortis Healthcare president Mr Daljit Singh.

Max Healthcare Institute MD and CEO, Mr. Rajit Mehta, has been elected as Senior Vice President and Apollo Hospitals executive vice president Ms. Preetha Reddy as Vice President.

Other elected are Dr. Badhri Iyengar as Secretary and Dr. Harsh Mahajan as Treasurer. Mr. Siddhartha Bhattacharya has been elected as Secretary General.

Dr. Ballal has been part of Manipal Health Enterprises for over 20 years. His in-depth knowledge, expertise and passion towards the industry were instrumental in positioning Manipal Hospitals as one of the top healthcare enterprises in India.

Dr Ballal said, “Stringent governmental regulations, increased public and media attention on the cost of healthcare will substantially affect the delivery of healthcare in our country. The effect of demonetization, GST and capping of prices would further impact healthcare in a big way.”

He stated, “The greatest challenge for the healthcare sector is to deliver 1st world healthcare at 3rd world costs.”
