Manufacturers of Siddha, Unani, Homeopathy and Ayurveda medicines in Puducherry have demanded that the union territory government must procure half the products from local manufacturers and the remaining from other states. They have also sought participation in all health related programmes in Puducherry.
This was resolved at the Tenth Annual General Body meeting of the Siddha, Unani, Homeopathy, Ayurveda Manufacturing Association (SUHA). The meeting was presided over by Dr CA Ravi, Founder and President, SUHA, who is the MD of Vee Herbal Care (P) Ltd. It was attended by more than 15 members including manufacturers, directors and administrators.
SUHA has also demanded that government needs to encourage SUHA manufacturers in Puducherry and permit many more companies. The association has sought the appointment of a special officer for addressing the queries of manufacturers.
