Delhi: No shortage of ventilators, assures Jain

Delhi Health Minister Satyendra Jain has assured that there is no shortage of ventilators or beds in hospitals in the national capital.

Speaking to the media on reports of shortage of beds in hospitals, Jain informed that there are 13000 beds and there is no shortage of ventilators.He added that patients from Delhi and other states are being admitted in the hospitals.

The central government has provided 1100 beds while talks for adding more beds with the center is on. Banquets and hotels will be included soon to handle the situation, he informed.

Cases of coronavirus are increasing rapidly and there is no slowdown.

Jain has appealed to people of Delhi that they should go outside their homes only if it is necessary.

“Beds’ data is being revised twice a day in the app. People should visit hospitals only after going through the app, said the Delhi health minister.

A total of 13468 cases and 81 Covid deaths were recorded in Delhi on April 13, 2021. The positivity rate was recorded at 13.14%.
