Fujifilm India collaborate with Milind Soman to spread awareness about breast cancer

A pioneer in healthcare and diagnosis technology, Fujifilm India has associated with actor and fitness enthusiast Milind Soman to spread awareness about the early diagnosis of breast cancer.

The association is a part of the Unity Run and is aimed at creating awareness among the masses, especially women about the importance of early diagnosis.

“As part of the collaboration, Milind Soman will be visiting the NM Medical Center in Mumbai to interact with Breast Radiologists and patients at the center and understand the reason for the growing number of breast cancer cases,” Fujifilm India said in a statement.

While commenting on the collaboration, the actor and supermodel said, “A healthy body is the best defense one has against numerous diseases in the world. It is our responsibility to keep our health in check and opt for early detection and screening.”

“I am amazed by the work Fujifilm India and NM Medical Center have been doing in this field of early diagnosis, helping scores of people in their fight against breast cancer. It’s my great pleasure to be associated with a leading imaging brand and support them in this cause by doing my bit in spreading awareness around the importance of early detection of breast cancer,” Milind Soman said.

“Cancer is a demon that needs to be quashed, and it fills me with pride that I am associated with a cause that aims to overcome it,” he said.

Explaining about the early detection and welcoming Soman, MD of Fujifilm India, Koji Wada said, “We are delighted to have Milind Soman on board for educating the masses about early detection of diseases like cancer and TB, as he is a fitness icon and an ambassador of healthy living.”

“We are hopeful that our association with him will motivate people to take their health more seriously and opt for early diagnosis. Breast cancer is a growing epidemic in the world but it is preventable,” she added.

“With our advanced innovations and world-class technology, we aim to save lives by offering the highest standard of healthcare solutions and spreading awareness about early detection of breast cancer in India,” Wada said.   

According to the data presented by Fujifilm India, after 75 years of Independence, India faces a growing threat of undetected breast cancer in women.

Breast cancers currently account for 14% of all cancers among women.

Today, one in every 22 women in urban India and one in every 60 women in rural India is at risk of developing breast cancer in her lifetime.
