Delhi’s schools reopened on Monday morning, even as the city’s air quality remained in the severe category for the third consecutive day.

Data released from 30 of the 39 monitoring stations in the city by the Central Pollution Control Board at 9 a.m. on Monday morning suggests that the average air quality in the city was at 405.

PM2.5 and PM10 load in the city was 353 and 211 mcg per m3 according to the data released by the System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting and Research.

The Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology (IITM) has predicted that the air quality over Delhi National Capital Territory (NCT) is likely to improve gradually but remain in the 'Very Poor' category on November 29 and 30, 2021.

In a bulletin issued by IITM on Monday morning, the Institute has predicted that relatively strong winds are likely to blow in NCT during 29th and 30th November.

However the air quality is likely to remain in very poor category on December 1, 2021, the prediction by the IITM said.

PM2.5 will continue to be the primary pollutant in the next five days, the institute warned.
