The entire staff of University College and Medical Sciences (UCMS) and Guru Tegh Bahadur Hospital participated in the Hawan in the remembrance of their colleagues who lost their lives while serving COVID19 patients.

It may be noted that GTB, one of the largest Delhi government-run health facilities, was converted to a dedicated COVID19 facility to serve COVID19 patients in the first and second wave of the deadly pandemic.

When the treatment looked like an uphill task during the pandemic in private and government hospitals, patients from other parts of Delhi and states poured into GTB Hospital in hope to get the treatment.

Dr Amita Suneja, Acting Principal, UCMS, remembered the COVID19 martyrs and prayed for the long life of healthcare workers. Dr Banarasi, Additional Medical Superintendent and Dr Danjay Kumar, Medical Officer at the GTB Hospital also remembered the healthcare workers who died to COVID19 and prayed for the long life of healthcare workers.

UCMS Dean Dr Aditya Aggarwal, HOD Pathology Dr Sonal Sharma, and HOD Biochemistry Dr Dinesh Puri, UCMC workers Union President Devendra Sharma and President of Lab Staff Union of UCMS Nand Kishore Gupta were present at the occasion.
