The doctors have drawn the attention of the Delhi BJP Chief to the delayed payment of salaries in corporation run hospitals in Delhi, and the non-implementation of the recommendation of the seventh central pay commission in Delhi government run hospitals.

Representatives of the Federation of Resident Doctors Association (FORDA)-India have met Delhi-BJP Chief Manoj Tiwari and discussed the months long delay in payment of salaries to doctors in North and East Delhi Municipal Corporations which are ruled by the BJP.

FORDA-India has stated that doctors working in both corporations are facing a tough time due to irregular payment of salaries. It may be noted that resident doctors of East Delhi Municipal Corporation (EDMC) recently wrote to the Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal regarding delay in payment of salaries for months.

FORDA-India has said that Mr Tiwari, who is the Lok Sabha MP form North-East Delhi, assured the doctors of an early solution to the problem.

The doctors also raised the issue of discrepancy in payment of salaries of PG, DNB and FNB residents working in different hospitals run by the Delhi government. The doctors’ body said that for quite some time, the resident doctors  have not been receiving their salaries in accordance with the 7th CPC.

FORDA president, Dr Vivek Chouksey, told DTMT, “Since the Delhi government is not listening to our problems regarding salary payment as per 7th CPC, we approached Mr Tiwari who is the chief of the principal opposition party in Delhi. We want him to raise our issue. MCD is ruled by BJP so he can also intervene in the matter of delay in payment of salary in corporation-run hospitals.”
