NEW DELHI: The Federation of Resident Doctors' Association (FORDA)-India  has threatened a Pan-Delhi agitation from April 10 onward if authorities fail to take action against police officers and a patient’s attendants who assaulted the resident doctors in Sushruta Trauma Centre, Delhi, on the morning of April 7, 2018.

In a letter to Union Health Minister JP Nadda, Dr. Vivek Chouksey, president of FORDA, stated that doctors would stop work from April 10 onward if the ASI and patient’s attendants involved in the assault on resident doctors are not arrested.

They want the ASI Yunis Khan involved in the incident to be charged and dismissed from service.

The letter reads, “On informing the PCR van, the ASI Yunis Khan further instigated the mob against the doctors and also asked them to assault the doctors physically. The ASI also verbally threatened of ruining the future of the resident doctors present out there.”

It added, “Such kind of action by police personnel on duty is deeply regretful. The incident brings to the fore the lack of security of doctors at working place.”
