A massive recruitment drive in Delhi government hospitals is expected by September 15, 2018.

To meet the shortage of manpower in different departments of its hospitals, the Delhi government has decided to fill all vacancies of pharmacists, nursing staff, radiographers, lab assistants, technicians, OT assistants, physiotherapists and sanitary inspectors by hiring them on contract basis.

A decision has been taken by the government that all vacancies will be filled on contract basis till permanent hiring takes place.

This decision was taken in a review meeting by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal after detailed discussion with health minister Satyendar Jain and senior officials of the health department.

The CM expressed concern over the shortage of manpower that often delays provision of healthcare services. It often also causes rush of patients in hospitals as the few staff members of any department fail to cater to a large number of patients.

The CM Kejriwal has said that patients can’t suffer because of shortage of staff. The CM has set a deadline of September 15, 2018, for filling up all vacancies on contract.
