An intern and an MBBS student of Delhi’s Hindu Rao Hospital died in an accident on Delhi’s signature bridge on November 23, 2018. Dr Satya Vijay Shankaran was an intern while Dr Chandershekhar was a student of MBBS.
The two were riding on a bike and fell thirty feet from the bridge into the sand on the river bank after their speeding bike hit a road divider and they lost control. The bridge is located on the Yamuna river in North-east Delhi.
Additional DCP Jasmeet Singh said two men were riding a KTM Duke bike towards Timarpur from northeast Delhi side. They were speeding and lost control while taking a turn towards Majnu Ka Tila.
DCP Singh added that their bike hit a road divider, and they fell 25-30 feet down from the bridge.
Federation of Resident Doctors Association-India and United Resident Doctors Association have expressed condolences to the families of deceased.
