The new building of the Maulana Azad Institute of Dental Sciences (MAIDS)-Delhi, which includes expansion of casualty, radiology department, operation theatre wards, ICU, e-library, disability clinic, prosthetic dentistry and pathology lab, is likely to be functional in a few months.

This was informed by Delhi's Health Minister Satyendra Jain while speaking at the 35th Dental Health Utsav that will run from December 11 to December 15, 2018.

The minister said, “New infrastructure is being made. There is still some work on construction. I hope that within a few months this new building will be completed and thereafter patients will avail more facilities.”

Professor Mahesh Verma, Director-Principal, MAIDS, said work on new campus is almost complete.

"Gradually people have become more cautious about their dental health. Patients come in large numbers for treatment daily. In 2018 alone, around five lakh patients have been given treatment at MAIDS. Mobile Dental Health Vans are reaching various parts of Delhi and providing treatment to the people who cannot come to the hospital,” informed Dr Verma.
