Delhi's BLK Hospital pledges to ensure healthy ecosystem

NEW DELHI : BLK Super Speciality Hospital, New Delhi, celebrated the World Environment Day at its premises. The activities were conducted keeping in tune with the United Nations' theme of “Air Pollution” this year.
On the occasion, the hospital organized several activities for creating awareness among the doctors, nurses and patients on the importance of a cleaner and greener environment.
Over 100 saplings were planted in the vicinity of the hospital in West Delhi region with the aim to save the environment and improve air quality.
Dr Sanjay Mehta, Head – Medical Services, expressed, “A healthy ecosystem is essential for the growth of a nation. As a responsible citizen everybody should contribute in reducing health hazards caused by different kinds of pollution.”
Dr Mehta stated, “We feel humbled in taking such small steps which will help in improving the air around us.”
This was a small yet an important step towards creating a greener healthier environment, he added.
