Delhi govt revokes ban on construction

DTMT Network

Delhi government has decided to revoke ban on construction and demolition in wake of improved air quality in the national capital.

Speaking to the media on November 22, 2021, Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai said that prevailing pollution in Delhi is decreasing due to various measures taking against it and the change in wind speed.

“Keeping this in mind, the ban on demolition and construction has now been taken back, but strict monitoring will continue,” he added.

Rai warned shutting down of sites which are found violating norms of controlling pollution. The minister said that such sites would be shut down without any notice. It may be noted that Delhi's air still remains very poor and breathing in such an atmosphare is detrimental to the health.
