Doctors at Delhi’s GB Pant hospital have removed a mobile measuring seven centimetres long and three centimetres wide from the stomach of a jailed inmate of Tihar Jail who had swallowed it to avoid detection.

As per media a report, the doctors at the hospital said that the patent was brought to the hospital with ingestion of a foreign body on January 15, 2022, and investigations revealed the mobile phone inside the abdomen.

The doctors at the hospital performed an endoscopy of the patient and brought out the mobile through his mouth using a snare.

The procedure was performed by a team of doctors led by Dr Siddarth and Dr Manish Tomar of the Gastroenterology Department
