US will pay $100 to newly vaccinated people

US President Joe Biden asked state and local governments to pay $100 to people who get fully vaccinated using the aid money they received in American Rescue Plan.

According to the White House, more than 160 million Americans have been fully vaccinated and more steps have been announced to inoculate more Americans.

“Over 160M Americans are fully vaccinated, schools are reopening for in-person instruction this fall, and our economy is roaring back. But there's still work to be done. Today the President announced more steps to deliver life-saving vaccines to more Americans,” the White House tweeted.

According to the new rule announced by the Treasury Department and Internal Revenue Service, tax credit now applies when employers give workers time off so they can help their family members get their jabs.

“Our administration will be taking further steps to ensure eligible Americans get vaccinated. This includes expanding our paid leave tax credit so employers can give staff paid-time off to get their kids and other family members vaccinated,” it said in another tweet.

“President Biden’s new steps to deliver vaccines to every eligible American will also include more incentives. The President is calling on states to use funding they have received from the American Rescue Plan to give $100 to anyone who gets fully vaccinated,” it added in a series of tweets.
