All the international travelers will undergo home quarantine for seven days and shall undertake RT-PCR test on the eighth day of arrival in India, the Union Health Ministry said in a revised guidelines for international travelers on January 7, 2022.

“Travellers will also be required to upload results of a repeat of RT-PCR test for COVID19 done on the eight day Air Suvidha Portal,” the ministry further added.

“If found negative, they will further self-monitor their health for seven days. However, if such travelers are tested positive, their samples should be further sent for genome sequencing,” it further added.

“Children under five years of age are exempted from both pre and post arrival testing. However, if found symptomatic for COVID19 on arrival or during home quarantine period they shall undergo testing and be treated as per laid down protocol,” the ministry added.
