Medanta hospital, Gurugram, has become the first hospital in India to get the internationally benchmarked quality assurance Postal Dosimetry Audit for CyberKnife and Tomotherapy. The audit is jointly done by WHO and International Atomic Energy Agency to optimize dose delivery in radiation therapy.

“CyberKnife is a robotic treatment of tumor with no involvement of any doctor. Tomotherapy includes scan and treatment of the patient through radiation. There are only four hospitals in India which provide these two treatments but Medanta has been benchmarked internationally for these treatments,” said an official in Medanta.

Dr. Tejinder Kataria, Chairperson, Radiation Oncology, Medanta Cancer Institute, said, “With internationally benchmarked quality assurance Postal Dosimetry Audit, we hope to give radiation therapies of global standards to patients. We are now looking to serve patients who need care through world-class treatment under one roof.”
