France, WHO to establish Academy for Lifelong Learning in Health

France President Emmanuel Macron and WHO Director General, Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, have signed a Declaration of Intent to establish a WHO academy that will massively expand lifelong learning in health.
Their objective is to reach millions of people with state of the art digital learning experience in order to infect creative learning into everyone.
This learning experience can be obtained in a campus located in Lyon and in six other WHO regions. High tech learning environments, world class emergencies simulation center and collaboration spaces for learning co-design research and innovation are all part of the learning experience in the Lyon WHO hub.
In order to deliver high impact recognized multilingual learning to meet diverse needs, the academy focuses on bringing adult learning science, behavioral science, cutting edge learning technologies such as artificial intelligence and virtual reality together with WHOs norms, values, standard and evidence.
Numerous Multisectoral Stakeholders can influence health such as leaders, educators, researchers, health workers, WHO staff and the broader public. This will be an internal WHO division.
This organization will ensure strong relations with all WHO member states. The academy will also have the ability to utilize WHOs partnerships, experts, collaborating centers and networks.
WHO wants to excel and follow their “triple billion” goal i.e. by the year 2023 an additional One Billion people benefit from universal health coverage, one billion more are afforded better protection in health emergencies and one billion more enjoy improved health and well-being.
