FDSA writes to Mandaviya for early MDS counseling

The Federation of Dental Students’ Association (FDSA) has written to Indian Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya to conduct early counseling of MDS, which has been delayed for almost a year.
In a letter to Mandaviya, the FDSA has said that it has been more than six months that the exam was conducted and after the due process of results the aspirants were to join their postgraduate courses and indulge in COVID care.
The association added that there had been no significant developments on the front of counseling that has resulted in a considerable academic and economic loss of the aspirants.
“NEET MDS 2021 was held on December 16, 2020, while the result was announced on December 31, 2020 but due to almost a year delay in NEET MDS counseling, certain drawbacks such as academic loss and forced unemployment of qualified BDS doctors are perceived,” FDSA said in the letter.
The FDA said that the Supreme Court even said, “The government is wasting the lives of doctors and it is a loss to the country.”
“Hereby, we conclude our letter by summoning that we expect an expeditious decision will be taken within a week when the center proposes counseling for the students’ MDS NEET results declared on December 31, 2020,” the FDSA said.
“We hope the center is conscious of the serious consequences faced by these students as a result of the long delay of counseling,” FDSA added.
