HLL Biotech staff stare at job losses, petition authorities

 BS RAWAT
NEW DELHI : Employees of HLL Biotech Ltd (HBL) a Government of India Company at Chengalpattu, Tamil Nadu, in a letter to President Ram Nath Kovind, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and 15 other responsible authorities, have expressed concern over the future of the company and their careers.

In the letter, the employees have objected to the tragic situation created by the company’s CEO, CMD and Director such that the salary will be paid till the month of June 2019 only and later the company will not be in a position to ensure the payment anymore and strategies will be adopted to reduce the salaries of employees.

The letter stated, “CEO also informed employees that several options would help to manage the current crisis, including looking for job opportunities outside HBL, opt for internal transfer within HLL subsidiaries and employees may be deputed to other vaccine institutes.”

Further, it has been informed that both ministry and HLL will not help/support financially to manage the crisis of HBL, it added.

“Our livelihood is in question and the project for which we have put our heart and soul appears to be in a precarious situation. Integrated vaccine complex declared as a ‘Project of National Importance’ does not deserve this treatment and the employees look devastated over the decisions that were communicated verbally,” the employees wrote with a deep sense of anguish and pain over the development that has happened at HBL in the last week.
