The implementation of the next Odd-even car rationing in the national capital will depend on the air quality during the next two or three days in Delhi.

Addressing the media at Delhi Secretariat, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said that it is expected that air quality may improve within the next few days.

"Decision to implement Odd-even will be taken on November 18, 2019" he added.

It may be noted that Delhi has been suffering from poor and severe air quality for the last three weeks.

This air quality is affecting lungs of young children, elders and even affecting the health of normal individuals.

The Delhi government on November 4, 2019, had implemented Odd-even scheme to control the effects of air pollution as vehicular pollution has a major contribution in air pollution in the national capital.

However, this did not improve the air quality as much as was expected. Kejriwal, however, reiterated that stubble burning has a major contribution in air pollution in Delhi.

He informed that around 30 lakh vehicles ply in Delhi everyday. "After implementation of odd-even, the number of vehicles reduced to 15 lakh," he added.
