Max Hospital extends it's medical expertise to Sonepat

SONEPAT: Max Super Speciality Hospital, Shalimar Bagh, Delhi, has launched Minimally Invasive Cardiac Surgery (MICS) in Sonepat, Haryana. This advanced technique not only ensures a seamless surgery process but also helps minimizing risks such as excessive blood loss, surgical trauma, pain and more, stated a hospital release.
Dr. Veenu Kaul, Associate Director- CTVS, Max Hospital, claimed, “Our hospital has always encouraged innovative and advanced medical techniques that improve overall healthcare delivery and ensure a seamless service to our patients. With this technology, we are reaching out to people to raise awareness on the latest technological advancements in the field of cardiology.”
Dr Kaul explained, “In this technique, the heart is approached through the side of the left chest via a small 2 to 3 inch incision. The chest is entered between the ribs without cutting any bones and by splitting the muscle.”
“Similar to a regular heart surgery, the operation is performed using all arteries or a combination of arteries and veins removed from the leg. The procedure is used for Coronary artery bypass, Mitral valve repair, Mitral valve replacement, Aortic valve replacement, Atrial septal defects (Hole In Heart) and more,” he added.
Dr. Mohammad Mubeen, Associate Director, said “The first and foremost advantage of MICS is the fact that no bones are cut. This has several advantages in reducing pain, retaining functions and having a positive effect on breathing.”
He said, “This procedure makes heart surgery possible for patients who were previously considered too high a risk for traditional surgery due to age or medical history”
