UP: Sickle removed from girl's abdomen

Doctors at district hospital, Deoria, Uttar Pradesh, have saved the life of a 12-year-girl, Babli, by removing a sickle from her stomach in a two-hour surgery. The sickle had penetrated into her stomach when she was engaged in paddy cutting in the field.
Her family members were busy in paddy cutting. When she was cutting paddy, she saw a combine machine coming towards her. This alarmed her and made her nervous. She stood up in haste and turned to run but due to imbalance she fell on the sickle.
The sickle penetrated two inches inside her abdomen causing her acute pain. She cried and people cutting paddy surrounded her including her father.
They saw the girl crying in acute abdominal pain with sickle penetrated into her stomach. The girl’s father somehow took her to the district hospital where the sickle was removed from her abdomen in the two-hour surgery. The girl’s life was saved thanks to the consistent efforts of the doctors.
