100 years of Rotary: 4 unsung heroes to be honoured

On its 100 years celebration, Rotary India will felicitate four unsung heroes with Humanity Hero Awards in the field of Health; Literacy; Water; Sanitation & Hygiene; and Economic and Community Development.

A cash prize of Rs one lakh each will be given at the three-day Rotary India Centennial Summit 2020 to be held in Kolkata from February 14.

The awards will be given to those people who swam against the tide to bring change in the lives of people by providing love, care, help and support, at times with meager budget, but always with great passion and a will to serve others.

Kamal Sanghvi, Rotary India Director, said, “Over 100 years, we’ve bridged cultures and connected continents to champion peace, fight illiteracy and poverty, promote clean water and sanitation, and fight diseases.”

Over 5,000 delegates across 40 countries including top leadership of the Rotary world and eminent speakers from the country will attend the three days summit.

The summit will showcase the work of Rotary in India.
