NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court of India on February 10, 2020, sought response from the Rajasthan government on a plea seeking probe into the death of over 100 new-born babies at JK Lon Hospital in Kota last month.

A bench comprising Chief Justice S A Bobde, Justice B R Gavai and Justice Surya Kant issued notice to the Rajasthan government on a plea filed by Dr. Krishan Kumar Aggarwal and social worker B Mishra seeking probe into the death of infants due to lack of equipment at a government hospital in the state.

As per the government report, over 100 infants lost their lives at the Kota hospital in December last year.

The  National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) had also taken cognizance of the tragedy and issued notice to the Rajasthan government.
