In a shocking incident, doctors who are now being called corona warriors, were chased and pelted with stones in the Ranipura area of Indore, Madhya Pradesh, when they went there for screening for corona virus.

A video that has gone viral shows that two doctors / healthcare workers, dressed in light blue personal protection equipment, are running towards a street while a mob of around fifty people is chasing them and pelting stones. The mob is throwing whatever material was lying on the road.

It is fortunate that the force deployed on the spot saved the doctors and other healthcare workers involved in the screening.

The doctors, who were pelted with stones included, a female doctor. She, who did not wish to be named, informed the media that she, along with another doctor, had been visiting the area daily for testing for corona virus.

“We had information about the contacts of positive corona virus cases. As we inquired about them, they started pelting stones. We had a team of two doctors, ANM, Asha worker and Tehsildaar. We were fortunate that force was already deployed there due to which, we could return safe,” added the doctor.

“We were screening them and they were informing us too but suddenly things went wrong. We were scared as they were pelting stones at our feet and we were running,” she explained.
