Entry into Goa has been allowed only to those who have Covid negative certificate, or those who are willing to undergo the compulsory Covid test to enter the state. This has been informed by Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant.

“We maintain the need for a Covid negative certificate and a compulsory Covid test. The 14-day home quarantine option will be no longer be available. Either you bring the negative certificate or have to take the test,” said Mr Sawant while interacting with the media.

The decision has been taken to prevent the further transmission of Covid in the state which had become corona free some three weeks ago. But the cases of the virus are once again increasing,  which has become a major concern for the state government.

It may be noted that Goa borders Maharashtra where cases and deaths due to the virus are increasing rapidly.

Goa has not registered a virus death so far.
