 BS RAWAT

The AIIMS Nurses Union, Delhi, has threatened to launch a series of protests and agitations from June 1 after its members were allegedly insulted, the union says, by the RP Center chief Prof Atul Kumar.

Harish Kumar Kajla, president of the union, said, “On 28th May, 2020, when our union representatives approached Prof. Atul Kumar, head RP Center, to  resolve our many issues, he insulted the Union and the entire AIIMS nursing fraternity by saying "Naukri Chod do aur sabji becho .”

“This is clear harassment towards all nurses of AIIMS and is totally unacceptable. We demand unconditional apology from Prof. Atul Kumar at the earliest,” the Union demanded.

Their demands listed in a letter written to the institute's director include four hours duty with PPE in COVID areas, uniform rotation policy between covid and non-covid areas, refreshment after doffing and provision of ambulance facility for Covid screening/ Covid positive staff.
