 BS RAWAT
Amid a shortage of medics, the BYL Nair Hospital (TN Medical College), Mumbai, has issued an appeal to its second- and third-year Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery batches to return to the campus and join relief efforts as ‘Covid warriors’.

In the appeal, Dr Mohan Joshi, Dean, Nair Hospital, said, “Those students, who volunteer, should approach the respective Deans of the Medical Colleges."

Students have been told that they will be trained to do various jobs either in community, in war room or in jumbo care facilities for Covid patients in Mumbai.

“Probable incentives are Rs 30,000 per month and number of days of Covid warrior period will be deducted from U.G. Board service period,” the appeal reads.

Dr Joshi informed students that their transport, accommodation and food will be taken care of by the hospital if they join.
