The Delhi government has issued show-cause notices to several private labs for not following the ICMR guidelines by testing asymptomatic people for Covid-19.

One such notice to City X-ray and Scan Clinic Pvt Ltd., which has been accessed by DTMT, states that the ICMR testing guidelines are being flouted as asymptomatic people are being tested.

"Data submitted by you in the ICMR portal and the H&FW Department in which it has been observed that large number of asymptomatic patients while tested without following the ICMR protocol on May 30 and 31," the notice said.

"Therefore, you are hereby directed to show cause why action should not be taken against you under the provisions of Delhi Epidemic Diseases Covid-19 Regulations, 2020 issued under the Epidemic Diseases Act 1897," the notice reads.
