Taking a serious note of some staff members testing Covid positive, Delhi-AIIMS’ Microbiology Department will now impose a fine of Rs 500 on members having lunch or tea together. The department has also directed the staff not to interact with any person without wearing an N-95 mask.

“All the healthcare staff in the department is strictly instructed to avoid common tea and lunch time. Those found not following these advisersies will be fined Rs 500,” reads the circular issued by Dr Ram Chaudhry, Prof and Head, Department of Microbiology.

“Few high risk contacts have also been reported from our department. In view of this, no healthcare staff will interact with any other person without N-95 mask and maintain at least one meter distance and perform hand wash. Also, ensure to disinfect the key or wash with soap and water after receiving and before handing over to the security personnel after every day’s work,” adds the circular.
