A Dellhi-AIIMS panel, including Chief of Neuroscience Centre, Prof Padma Srivastava, Head of Psychiatry Department, Prof RK Chadda, Deputy Director-Administration, Subhashish Panda, and Head of Physical Medicine and Rehab, Dr U Singh, will submit its report within 48 hours into the suicide by hindi journalist Tarun Sisodia, who jumped from the fourth floor of AIIMS’ Trauma Centre building. Mr Sisodia had Covid and was getting treatment since June 24, 2020.

The panel which will probe the cause of death was formed by Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan. In his Facebook note, the minister said, "I ordered AIIMS Director to immediately constitute an official inquiry into this incident, following which a high-level committee has been set up and shall submit its report within 48 hours. “I am deeply shocked and saddened by the death of young journalist Shri Tarun Sisodia Ji. It may be noted that the journalist had jumped from the fourth floor for AIIMS’ Trauma Centre on July 6, 2020. He was rushed to the ICU at the same center where he succumbed to the injuries. The journalist used to cover press conferences of AIIMS and was known to the staff there and fellow journalists who cover AIIMS and health beat.
