Home isolate: Karnataka Govt. to people whose swabs taken

The Karnataka government has directed people who have given their swab samples for Covid test to go under strict home isolation.


The state government has warned that any person found violating directions will face legal action under the Epidemic Diseases Act.

A circular issued by Mr Jawaid Akhtar, Additional Chief Secretary to Karnataka Government, says that persons who have provided swab samples for Covid-19 testing may be infectious. Hence, as a matter of abundant caution, all such persons shall be advised strict isolation/quarantine at home till their lab results are communicated.

"Any irresponsible behavior by the person like going outdoors, socializing and going to work will result in spread of infection in the community and consequently such acts shall invite stringent legal action under the Epidemic Diseases Act," says the circulsr.
