Addressing the media in New Delhi on July 14, 2020, Mr Rajesh Bhushan, OSD, Union Health Ministry, informed that 86% of the total corona cases are confined to 10 states. Two of these (Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu) account for 50% and other eight states have 36% cases, he added.
“There are 20 states that have a recovery rate which is more than the national average. India’s national average is 63%. Of these states, Uttar Pradesh has recovery rate of 64%, Odisha 67%,Assam 65%, Gujarat has 70% and Tamil Nadu has recovery rate of 65%,” said Mr Bhushan.
