Doctors at Hindu Rao Hospital, Delhi, who have not been paid their due salaries for the last 105 days, said on Monday that authorities were not paying heed despite multiple petitions.
The Resident Doctors’ Association (RDA) has written to the Lieutenant-Governor, Prime Minister and chief minister of Delhi seeking their intervention in the matter, but to no avail.
RDA member Dr Piyush Pushkar Singh said, “We doctors are considered as God, but we also need money for our family and livelihood expenses.”
He pointed out that it had become a trend in North Delhi Municipal Corporation’s hospitals that the salaries are not regularised and healthcare workers are invariably protesting, dissenting and resigning.
Earlier, salaries for many months were credited after courts took cognisance of a threat of mass resignation by doctors, he added.
