AIIMS docs' march for Hindu Rao colleagues

 Rohit Shishodia
More and more Delhi's doctors are coming out in support of their Hindu Rao Hospital (HRH) colleagues, who have been on strike in protest against non-payment of salary. And, this angst is spreading and gaining momentum. The Resident Doctors Association of Delhi-AIIMS will hold a candle march in the hospital premises next week, as an expression of solidarity with HRH doctors who have not been paid their salaries for the last four months.

The five resident doctors of HRH are still on hunger strike and have vowed to remain on the strike unless their unpaid salary is paid.

The candle march was to be organized on Saturday evening but due to some reason it was canceled.

Dr Ajit Singh Oberoi, Treasurer, RDA, Delhi-AIIMS, said, "Due to some unforeseen circumstances we are postponing it to next week."

With limited coverage of the plight of doctors of HRH in the media, the doctors have appealed to journalists to cover them and highlight how they are living without salary for months.
