Actively considering night curfew: Delhi Govt. to HC

The Delhi government is considering imposing night curfew in the capital to curb the spurt in Covid cases and deaths. This has been submitted by the Delhi government before the Delhi High Court.

The government has stated that there is no decision yet on imposing any kind of curfew, but it is under active consideration depending on the Covid situation.

The response came on the court’s query over plans to impose night or weekend curfews, like in other cities.

Delhi has so far reported 8720 Covid deaths, including 99 fatalities in the last 24 hours. The case fatality rate has reached 1.6% while cumulative positive cases have touched 545787. Presently, there are 38287 active cases in the city. The total number of containment zones in Delhi has increased to 4980.
