Patients who have tested positive for the new corona virus strain detected in the UK are not showing any serious symptoms. Speaking to the media, Karnataka Health Minister K Sudhakar informed that 7 people have tested positive for the new strain of Covid 19 in the state.
He said that patients have been admitted to a hospital. "They are not showing any serious symptoms," he pointed out.
The minister further informed that three of those infected with the new corona strain are contacts of the UK returned new strain-positives. Their samples will be sent for genomic sequencing.
Meanwhile, the Indian government has extended temporary suspension of flights to and from the UK till January 7, 2021, in order to curb the spread of the new strain of coronavirus in the country. Flights will be resumed thereafter for which strict protocols will shortly be announced.
