75 out of 81 health facilities in Delhi will administer the Serum Institute of India (SII)-manufactured Covishield vaccine to healthcare workers in Delhi. The Covid vaccination program will kick off from January 16, 2021, across India.

It is understood that Bharat Biotech’s Covaxin will be given at 6 hospitals run by the central government. Covishield has been developed by Oxford University and AstraZeneca. In India it has been manufactured by SII.

Covaxin has been developed by Bharat Biotech.

Delhi Health Minister Satyendra Jain has told the media that in the first phase, Covid 19 vaccination will begin at 81 sites in Delhi from January 16.

He further said that a particular vaccine will be given at a particular centre because if a beneficiary receives a vaccine, he would need a second dose of that vaccine only.
