Don't take Covaxin in bleeding disorders, allergies

With adverse reactions of Covaxin being reported, Bharat Biotech has come with the advice that those who have allergies, bleeding disorders or are on blood thinners should not take doses of Covaxin.

In a factsheet, the company has said that those who have fever and are immune compromised and taking the medicines that affect the immune system should not take the vaccine.

Women who are pregnant and breastfeeding should not get the vaccine. Those who have received another vaccine should also not get it, says Bharat Biotech.

Swelling, pain, redness, itching, stiffness in the upper arm, weakness in the injection arm, body ache, headache, fever, malaise, weakness, nausea, rashes and vomiting are side effects that have been reported in Covaxin.
