Lost mom to Covid, AIIMS doc gets dad vaccinated

Dr Deepak Gupta, Professor and Neurosurgeon, Delhi-AIIMS, has now got his father vaccinated against Covid-19. Dr Gupta lost his mother to Covid in November 2020.
Dr Gupta told DTMT that his father was infected with the disease along with his mother, brother and sister. His mother succumbed to the disease at Delhi-AIIMS.
He said that the memories of the tragedy of losing his mother to the disease keep haunting him. Therefore, taking no chance of reinfection, he has got his father vaccinated at the hospital, he added.
Dr Gupta has already got the vaccine in the hospital. He has appealed that people should remain cautious and urged his colleagues to take the shots of the vaccines.
“People are in ignorance that the disease does not exist and they cannot be infected. But they can meet those who have lost their loved ones due to the disease. Therefore, they must follow Covid appropriate behavior to save themselves from the disease. Those who are eligible should take the vaccines to keep the disease at bay and save their families from infection,” advised Dr Gupta.
