Alarm unjustified over getting Covid despite vaccination

Dr Arvinder Soin, Chairman of the Medanta Liver Institute, Haryana, has said that the alarmism surrounding people getting Covid post-vaccination is entirely unjustified.
It is reported that a nurse working at Delhi government-run Satyawadi Raja Harish Chandra Hospital tested corona positive around a month after getting second dose of Covid vaccine.
The nurse, Ranjana Wadhwa, got the second dose of Covishield on February 17, 2021. The nurse getting the infection after the second dose has created confusion in people. Wadhwa had complained of severe body aches and also started sweating profusely on March 22, 2021. She was tested for the virus at the hospital and was found positive.
However, experts believe that it takes 42 days to develop corona antibodies after getting the second dose of vaccine.
“Must realize that 75% efficacy means 1 in 4 vaccinated individuals could still get Covid. But will certainly escape severe disease and death. So get vaccinated,” tweeted Dr Soin.
