Andhra, Odisha have only 2 days vaccine stock

After Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh, Odisha and Andhra Pradesh governments have also reported a shortage of corona vaccines. It is learned that vaccine stocks will last only for two days in both states.

Odisha Health Minister Naba Kishore Das told the media that right now the state has only 5.34 lakh doses of vaccines while 2.5 lakh doses are administered daily.

He added that vaccine stock will last for two more days. The state government has written to the center to send a minimum of 25-lakh vaccines for 10 days so that there is no interruption in vaccination.

Das has added that it is very important to get vaccines from the center and if supply of vaccines does not come within two days, then vaccination has to be stopped.

The minister has informed that 700 out of 1400 vaccination centers have already closed.

According to reports, the officials of Andhra Pradesh Medical and Health department have informed state Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy that only 3 lakh doses of Covid vaccine are available in the state as on April 8, 2021. They explained that the stocks will last for two days only.
