India’s Minister of State for Health Dr. Praveen Bharati Pawar on August 28, 2021 praised the contribution of the healthcare workers on achieving the milestone of administering over one crore doses of COVID-19 vaccines in the country.

“It is a matter of pride that we made a record of inoculating one crore people in a day. I congratulate healthcare workers and citizens for making the largest COVID vaccination a success,” Dr. Pawar said.

Administering over one crore vaccine doses to the beneficiaries in the last 24 hours is the highest ever vaccination achieved in a single day in India.

Crossing the one crore mark in a single day is a big achievement for India after facing the challenges like vaccine supply shortages and vaccine hesitancy among the citizens.

India’s mega vaccination program has seen big ups and downs since January 16, 2021. Initially, it started for healthcare and frontline workers and then for senior citizens.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated the people for making the vaccination exercise a success.

“Record vaccination numbers today! Crossing 1 crore is a momentous feat. Kudos to those getting vaccinated and those making the vaccination drive a success,” Prime Minister tweeted.

The Health Ministry informed that so far 62, 29, 89,134 COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered under the nationwide vaccination drive while 1, 03, 35,290 doses were administered on August 27, 2021.
