India reports 27,176 new COVID-19 cases, 7% lower than yesterday

India reported 27,176 new COVID-19 cases, 7% lower than yesterday that witnessed 25,404 new infections in the last 24 hours, the Indian Health Ministry informed on September 15, 2021.

The fresh coronavirus cases have pushed the overall caseload to 3,33,16,755 in the country, while the daily new cases remained less than 30,000 for the last 4 days, the ministry informed.

India’s death toll rose to 4,43,497 after the country recorded 284 fatalities related to coronavirus in the last 24 hours, according to the government data.

After the country witnessed 38,012 recoveries in the past 24 hours, the cumulative recoveries rose to 3,25,22,171, while the recovery rate currently stands at 97.62%.

According to the official data, the active caseload currently stands at 3, 51,087, while the active cases account for 1.05% of total cases.

As per the official figures, the daily positivity rate is reported to be less than 3% for the last 16 days, currently stands at 1.69%, while the weekly positivity rate is less than 3% for the last 82 days and currently stands at 2.00%.

Meanwhile, the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) said that 54,60,55,796 samples have been tested till September 14, 2021, of which 16,10,829 samples were tested yesterday.

Under the Nationwide Vaccination Drive, 75,89,12,277 vaccine doses have been administered so far, while 61,15,690 vaccine doses were administered in the last 24 hours.
