COVID-19: Israel bans unvaccinated teachers from teaching

DTMT Network

Israeli teachers who haven’t been inoculated against the coronavirus will be banned from entering schools unless they present a negative RT PCR test result, the Israeli Ministry of Education informed on September 23, 2021.

As per the decision, teachers who do not present the Green Pass, which is proof of coronavirus inoculation or recovery from the disease, are required to present a rapid antigen test performed up to 84 hours earlier.

This ban is a part of the Israeli government’s efforts to decrease the high coronavirus morbidity in the nation, and particularly in the unclosed education sector amidst the rapid outbreak of the hyper contagious virus.

According to the instructions of the ministry, the teachers of schools and kindergartens who do not meet these conditions will not be paid for the days of absence, nor will they be permitted to teach remotely for online classes through Zoom.
