Safdarjung Hospital gets 2 more e-Rikshaws to transport patients

BS RAWAT
NEW DELHI:
Responding promptly to Safdarjung Hospital Medical Superintendent Dr (Prof) Rajendra Sharma’s concern regarding to ease the transfer of patients from one department of the hospital to another, Bank of Baroda has donated two e- Rickshaws for this purpose. Before this, the bank had donated two e-Rickshaws.

Flagging off the environment-friendly rickshaws, Dr Sharma expressed gratitude to Bank of Baroda saying this noble step taken by the institution will bring succor and relief to the patients.

“This new facility will help critically-ill patients, especially those who come to the emergency department, to be transferred to the intensive care unit and other departments spread across the sprawling campus,” said Dr Sharma.
Dr Sharma stated, “With scattered and huge infrastructure there is an imperative need to make some arrangements for ambulation for poor and non-ambulantory patients.”

Rakesh Bhatia, Zonal Head, Bank of Baroda, further promised to diversify welfare activities by providing benches, wheel chairs and stretchers for the patients in the hospital under the bank's CSR initiatives.
