AIIMS-RDA's free stress-busting meditation sessions start today

To relieve the stress and depression that resident doctors face in daily life, the Resident Doctors Association of Delhi-AIIMS is organizing a three-day Heartfulness Meditation Worshshop. The first session starts on March 22, 2019, starting 6 pm at the conference hall of Delhi-AIIMS.

“It is a three day workshop for all resident doctors who face depression and stress due to workload. They will learn meditation. The art of meditation will be taught by senior doctors who are specially trained in meditation. All the medical students, interns and resident doctors will participate and learn it,” said Dr Amrinder Singh Malhi, President, Delhi-AIIMS.

“Depression affects productivity of a person. Doctors are not untouched. It affects their health and work. Recent suicides committed by young doctors are a major concern not only for the medical fraternity but society as well. Such suicides can be reduced by meditation. As the RDA, we decided to take this initiative that includes three workshops,” said Dr Malhi.

The workshop includes short talks on the science and art of heartfulness meditation and method. Experience heartfulness relaxation and heartfulness meditation with yogic transmission. It also includes de-cluttering of mind and its method, heartfulness cleaning and enabling session of heartfulness meditation with yogic transmission.

Dr Malhi added that the session on March 23 will begin at 1 PM and on Sunday the workshop will be organized at 9 am. All doctors can register and avail of the benefits free of cost.
