Hindu Rao docs not paid for 3 months, to strike tomorrow

BS RAWAT
NEW DELHI:
Resident doctors of Hindu Rao Hospital, Delhi, will go on a three-hour pen-down strike from May 16, 2019, against non-payment of their salaries for the last three months.

This announcement was made after talks failed with the CMO of the hospital and officials of North MCD.

The OPD, ward and emergency services will be affected by the strike. “If we do not get the salaries, we will continue the strike as well,” said Dr Sanjeev Choudhary, General Secretary of the RDA.

Dr Choudhary told DTMT, “We work continuously upto 48 hours. It is very difficult for us to maintain and feed our families if we do not get the salaries on time.”

He said that the main demands include immediate payment of three months salaries, implementation of the 7th Central Pay Commission recommendations and regular interview of senior and junior residents in the hospitals.

“We have informed the North MCD and the Civic Centre. As soon as the hospital gets the funds, we will disburse salaries to the resident doctors,” said the CMO of the hospital.
